approaching a toll - lots of toll roads in France

So I did end up in the back of a police car in France, but not as I imagined I might. Julian, Lydia & I had stopped in Aix-en-Provence and were searching on foot for a restaurant that had been recommended to us by Elizabeth at Maison de la Bourgade. It was after 2 already, we were hungry and tired. My Garmin was pointing us one way but a Tourist Information Center person had pointed us in another. Lydia saw two officers in a police car and flagged them to stop, then she and Julian started explaining our predicament. I began walking briskly down the block following my Garmin and trying to act like I did not know them. Next thing you know, my mother is screaming my name and waving me back. Quelle embarrassment! Thus I found myself scrunched in the back seat of a police car trying to act invisible.

The nice officers dropped us at the restaurant.
Unfortunately, after all that the restaurant was fini for lunch service.
Too bad, it looked really good - it's called 'les 2 freres'.
If you are ever in Aix-en-Provence, try it and let me know how it was.
I warn you though, it's not easy to find!

A chair that caught my eye.

Walking around Aix-en-Provence.

I am not sure what this is.

The traffic as you approach Nice on the way to Vence.

Finally, dinner in Vence, after a long day of driving.
